Lemon Ginger Detox Tea was introduced to me through my friend Amy. She swears by this and creates a pressed juice version with dark greens. Since I don’t have a juicer at home, I decided to use another method of extracting essence from natural ingredients this detox tea for the mornings.
Benefits of Turmeric
Lemon Ginger tea with Turmeric is a great add-on to this classic lemon and ginger tea since it provides antioxidants and stimulates the body’s own antioxidants as well. This will help boost your immune system to prevent yourself from getting sick throughout the winer days that we’ve been having. While its great for winter, this can be enjoyed even during the summer as well. It provides health benefits that is great for any day.
You can find turmeric in Indian grocery stores (this is relatively cheap and can be purchased in bulk). You can also use turmeric in Indian curry recipes as well, so it definitely a multi-function ingredient and good to have stored in the kitchen.
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 inch of ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric
- Honey to taste
How to make Lemon Ginger Tea with Turmeric
- Boil 2 cups of water (high boil)
- Turn off the heat
- Add sliced lemon, ginger, turmeric into water.
- Steep for 20 minutes
- Add honey to taste
You can drink this at room temperature. What I usually do while this is steeping is to catch up on Instagram which should be just enough time!
